Trent Galleries and COVID-19 - What Has Changed?
21/10/2020

With local restrictions and the government’s new tiered lockdown system in place throughout the UK, we felt it would be helpful to explain exactly how Trent Galleries have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have listened to government advice throughout the process and will, of course, continue to review the guidance over the coming weeks and months.

Now more than ever, we all need the escapism and opportunity for reflection that galleries offer. For those advantages to be retained, however, it is essential that everyone visiting our locations feels safe at all times.

What’s different?

Inside the galleries themselves, we have taken all of the COVID-19 precautions that you will have been seeing up and down the country over the recent months:

  • All members of staff are issued with a face covering, to be worn at all times during their shift

  • Numbers are restricted to 3-4 customers in the gallery at any one time

  • Each gallery carries out regular cleaning and sanitising work in all of the main indoor areas

In addition, we allow customers to book personal, private viewings in the gallery both first thing in the morning and just before closing time in the afternoon. Not only does this remove the risk of infection; it also enhances the experience of visiting our branches for some customers.

If customers prefer, we can also carry out home approval visits, provided that social distancing can be maintained at all times by everyone present. We are also more than happy to take any order over the phone and online, before sending items free of charge anywhere in the UK mainland.
